In the Ontario Curriculum, The dance curriculum is intended to help students to develop an understanding and appreciation of dance, as well as the ability to create works using the elements and the choreographic forms of the discipline. Through exploring dance and movement, students will develop an understanding of the art form, themselves, and others, and will learn about the lives of people in different times, places, and cultures. They will develop practical artistic skills, critical analysis skills, and a variety of communication skills.

Dance can be used in a variety of classes, sometimes students tend to shy away from dancing in front of the group, it is necessary for teachers to show the students that dancing can be fun and dancing is not just more girls. Everyone can enjoy dance!
